Korn live @ The Rockhal Feb05

Korn live @ The Rockhal

Korn is one of those bands that I used to listen too when I was a teenager. I thing that I remember best are the bagpipes at the begining of Shoots and Ladders. I loved them and I am glad that they are still up and running. Being a fan of Alien myself I was really curious to see the microphone stand that was designed by H.R. Giger. It didn’t disappoint …. On a technical note: Light was kind of a challenge for this one. It was nice to look at for the show, but to shoot it was a bit intense. It changed from extreme lights to darks and back to stroboscopes. Those were three very intense minutes. Furthermore they played an Intro...

The Kooks @ Den Atelier Feb02

The Kooks @ Den Atel...

It’s the second time around that I’ve photographed The Kooks at Den Atelier. They came a long way from 2010 on stage, I remember it felt quite chaotic back then. But last night they had their act together and performed a very solid show at the sold out venue. They seem more...

Die Antwoord live @ The Rockhal Jan26

Die Antwoord live @ ...

If you have a pounding headache and have serious fever Die Antwoord might not be the right place to be. But being how I am I went anyways. I would see them as a “brutal” version of Eminem. Their stage show is quite nice though, the play between their clothes and the lights is well...

Lenny Kravitz live @The Rockhal Dec09

Lenny Kravitz live @The Rockhal

I had mixed feelings when I was asked to photograph Lenny Kravitz. Why ? Because I cancelled a holiday last time he was in Luxembourg to photograph him, but my accreditation was cancelled the day before the concert. I was not amused. But after the first three songs tonight I was happy again. What a show, and what a performance.   On a technical note: The light was good, but it changed so fast from very bright to very dark that it made it quite hard to keep up. Definitely not a concert to start with if you are new to the job. The stage was weird with a lot of obstacles for good angles, so I stuck to the 24-70mm F2.8 for all three...

Katie Melua live @ La Coque Dec01

Katie Melua live @ La Coque

I wanted to see and photograph Katie Melua for a while now. I missed her a couple of times when she was here, but not so last week. Her music is very nice but let me tell you that it’s nothing compared to her/see her live. Very present, very talented and with an exquisite radiating personality she kept the audience wanting for more. I will definitely want to see her again if she makes it to Luxembourg in the neat future. On a technical note: Same conditions as with Madeline Juno’s and Zucchero’s performance. The rest of the set can be seen here on...

Madeline Juno live @ La Coque Nov27

Madeline Juno live @...

I heard Madeline Juno by chance last year in Germany. I was impressed by her presence and her show, when I heard she was part of the line up I was really happy to finally see her life and to photograph her. She was the first artist we were able to photograph during the Night Of The...
