It’s the third time I’ve photographed Archive, and it’s always different, musically as well as photographically. They tour to promote their 2015 album Restriction. I was quite confused when they started as their lead wasn’t singing, instead he was on the guitar. That’s always nice with Archive, you never know what’s going to happen. Musically they’ve grown too since I photographed them back in 2009. I must say that I did enjoy what I heard although it’s not the kind of music that I listen too a lot.
On a technical note: That did not change at all. The light is still very sparse at an Archive concert. We had blues and reds some whites and that’s basically it. Since the venue an thus the pit are so small I was very close to the artists and was thus forced to use the 24-70 F2.8 only for this gig.
